Treats

Today is Treats for #worldwatercolormonth

One of my favorite treats is a warm, just out of the oven,  chocolate chip cookie. I wish I had one right now!

Splash of Color #worldwatercolormonth

This morning I splashed some watercolor paint and I didn’t really like it much and I was going to try again, but,  I decided on another creative direction….to cut the art in strips and rearrange them.

Have a great Saturday! Rearrange things if you have to!

Card Collaboration

Good Morning!

Jill Kuhn (click her name to jump to her blog) and I are collaborating again, this time with 4″ x 6″ postcards. We sent each other 6 cards that had the beginning of designs and then we  finished the cards and mailed them back to each other. Check out the fun below!

Thank you so much Jill, your artwork is always so creative and full of imagination. We had such good time and it is always such a surprise to see how we finish designing the cards.

These are the cards Jill sent to me with my additions

Maui 2

On the road to Lahaina, we stopped at a bus converted into a juice stand,  serving fresh fruit smoothies. We tried the Dragon Fruit and Strawberry, delicious. While my son was waiting for the smoothies I snapped a picture thinking at the time, this would make a cool painting.  The truck was hand painted which made it more intriguing.

I’ve been obsessively painting for two days, here is my results (I used the graph method to transfer the picture to my watercolor paper). I made a few changes from the original photo.

Maui

Aloha! I just returned from my fabulous trip to Maui with my family. We stayed in a town called Kihei in a very lovey condominium resort. Our lanai had a view of the ocean, so every morning we started the day with coffee and art. Below are a few of my watercolor illustrations.

Tissue Paper Flowers

My granddaughter’s birthday party was this last weekend and I made lots of tissue paper flowers for decorations. For fun I used watercolor and watercolor pencil to paint one of the bouquets we made.

Here are some of the actual flowers. They are so festive.
