Agave Paper Collage

Greetings….Today’s offering is a paper collage. I used the beautiful papers, Jill Kuhn designed for me, here is the post about our designed papers. My sewing machine was used to to outline the Agave and add texture to the background. These days the sewing machine is used for art purposes and an occasionally clothing repair only. Have a creative day!

Handmade Collage Paper Collaboration

Recently, Jill Kuhn at https://artjillkuhn.wordpress.com and I decided to create some collage papers to share with each other. We each made a variety of designs and exchanged them by mail.

I have always admired Jill’s use of paper collage in the wonderful art work she produces. I’m so inspired by her sense of humor, creative process and the techniques she shares with all of us. Thanks Jill, for joining me with this fun and inspirational project.

On Wednesday, Jill always post a comical bird using collage techniques. We decided to share our new papers and we would both design our own “Wacky Bird”.

It’s Dance Night in the City…

more trees

Good Morning….Another tree scene to add to my December tree art. The trees are cut from magazine ads and I even found some mountains in an advertisement.

This morning I drew what was sitting in front of me on my drawing table.

Paper Quilt and Cookies

Good Morning, happy Thursday!

Christmas Tree #1: painted triangles fitted together as a paper quilt. I did use my sewing machine to add to the texture of the tree.

Cookie # 2: frosted Christmas cookie cut outs painted with Derwent watercolors and colored pencils. So many possibilities!

Healing the Soul with Art

Good Morning… For the past week, because of the fires in my community, we have not been able to leave our home but for picking up essentials at the market. My seven year old granddaughter and I have been playing lots of games and making art.

We decided to make our own collage papers. One thing we have an abundance of in our home is paper and lots of art supplies.

We painted on watercolor paper and then made photocopies for later use. We laughed a lot and inspired one another and thoroughly enjoyed each others company. Lasting fun memories through a difficult time.

Here is the beginning of some collage work.
