Handmade Collage Paper Collaboration

Recently, Jill Kuhn at https://artjillkuhn.wordpress.com and I decided to create some collage papers to share with each other. We each made a variety of designs and exchanged them by mail.

I have always admired Jill’s use of paper collage in the wonderful art work she produces. I’m so inspired by her sense of humor, creative process and the techniques she shares with all of us. Thanks Jill, for joining me with this fun and inspirational project.

On Wednesday, Jill always post a comical bird using collage techniques. We decided to share our new papers and we would both design our own “Wacky Bird”.

It’s Dance Night in the City…

Chairs and Dogs

Happy Monday….Five years ago I made a series of drawing of dogs and chairs. I did post these during that time when I had another blog. But, I thought I might post them again. The original art was watercolor and I then made some color changes In Photoshop.  Now I need to draw cats and birds with chairs.

Book Making

I love making art books and filling them with art. This little book was made with 3 separate sections of mixed-media paper and sewn to a stiff watercolor paper cover. I’ll be adding small watercolor paintings of California Wildflowers.

Cover 6″ x 4 1/2″

Open book size: 6″ x 8 1/2″, number of pages: 22

Succulent

Recently, when I was shopping, I was pleasantly surprised to see wood planks stretched across a wall and succulents planted between the planks.

The watercolor is a result of the picture I took. I’ll be using this art for the cover of a  journal I’m making.

Here is the actual planter.

Oak Leaf

Out of the many hundreds of oak leaves falling in my yard, I picked this one to paint. The mottled colors would present a challenge. I spent a few hours on Sunday practicing with watercolor, watercolor pencil and Kuretake Zig watercolor brush paints. I used multiple layers of color to achieve my results. A few hours well spent. Happy Monday!

Fiber art

Good Morning….In past years, I spent many hours creating fiber art. Now, my hands get tired making all of the little stitches. Below are a few small samples of creations I’ve made.
