Good Morning – Here are two very different styles of art making.

#1… a B&W sketch of the home my grandmother grew up in. It was located in Lincoln Heights (Los Angeles). I love the large homes built during early 20th century.

#2…an a imagination doodle, drawn freehand and color added in Photoshop.

Layers of Color

Greetings…Today’s post is multi layers of color. I started with painting a pattern with watercolor. I then lightly drew the flower shape and painted a thin glaze of bright blue over the background. I added several layers of colored pencil texture so the flower color would pop. I’m happy with the results.

These two designs were made several years ago, similar technique.

Cats, Birds and Chairs 2

Good Morning….I finally made a post on Draw a Bird Day, by accident.

I’ve illustrated another in my series of Cats, Birds and Chairs. These two characters look as though they are going to be causing some mischief very soon.┬áThe bird ( who is the ring leader) is saying, “Just look straight ahead, act normal, they will be leaving soon.”

Have a great weekend.

Brown Pen, Kuretake Zig watercolor pens, background added in Photoshop

Agave Paper Collage

Greetings….Today’s offering is a paper collage. I used the beautiful papers, Jill Kuhn designed for me, here is the post about our designed papers. My sewing machine was used to to outline the Agave and add texture to the background.┬áThese days the sewing machine is used for art purposes and an occasionally clothing repair only. Have a creative day!
