Bringing in the New Year

Good Morning…It ‘s the last day of 2017, this year sure went by fast. I’ve lived almost a year in my new location. It’s a happy time for me living so close to my kids and grandkids.

Today, I’m posting an illustration of birds I made before I started blogging again. A few of you may have seen it on Instagram about 6 months ago.  I had lots of fun and challenges with this illustration and some good watercolor practice.

I wish you all the very best in 2018. See you next year!

Happy New Year

I used my Procreate app on the iPad today. I combined a couple of images taken at the beach on Thursday. I like Procreate because of the layers that can be added to compose an image. It is very much like Photoshop.

2018 is coming our way. Have a super weekend!

Yellow!

Before I use this lemon, I will try my hand at drawing what I see. It’s a bright sunny day where I live so I’m sharing the warmth, and YELLOW is just the color to do that.

I had the opportunity to visit the beach yesterday and I found this stone sculpture. ENJOY!

The Dogs are Coming

Greetings…I hope everyone’s holiday season has been jolly.  Now we head into the New Year 2018. This will be the Year of the Dog according to the Chinese New Year calendar. I love to draw dogs, so expect to see lots of pups from me this year!

Coming Up….

Good Morning….At the end of January, I’m joining another artist at the Topanga Vintage Market, that is held monthly near my home.  I’ll be selling the art pin/necklace that is below. I make these pins from recycyled paper, scrapes of fancy papers, fabrics and beads. I’m in the process of building my stock. I’m really looking forward to the experience and expanding my artistic community.

I wish you all a beautiful holiday weekend, and I’ll be back on Tuesday.

Mugs and Chickens…

Last night,  I met a fellow artist friend and we sketched in the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Here is the result of my drawing. They were selling these mugs.

My morning warm up drawing…I have know idea why I was thinking of chickens, but that’s what you get today! Have a beautiful Friday.
