Almost every morning, the first thing I do is make a cup of coffee and draw or paint something. I spend about 30-45 minutes making quick sketches. It’s a routine I’ve been practicing for many years. I like the quiet of morning, sipping my coffee, and surprising myself with the morning sketch.
Today’s art offering:
watercolor, watercolor pencil and black pen.
I think that routine is absolutely crucial to any creative process. Yours clearly suits you …. your work continues to delight me 🙂

so lovely- and I love that you do that every morning. Where does your inspiration come from for what to draw/paint? Sometimes that holds me up more than anything…. lol!

Hi Jodi – I’m a morning person, so generally when I wake up I’ve got ideas swirling around in my head. But If I get stuck, I look through magazines, look up a topic on the internet, or just go through my stacks of past drawings. Also, I’m so inspired by all of you.
Many times I just put paint on paper, mix the color and see what appears. Without fail I always get some idea to progress with. Or I just cut up the paper and rearrange and start again. I hope this helps. Xxoo

I liked your statement, “…and see what appears.” that is such a creative, and freed, way to be. 🙂 ❤

Thanks you…I’m sure that happens to you as well. 🙂 It is magical sometimes how the medium just has a way of creating on it’s own.
